Laxmi Chaudhary is a public health intern at Alanda Health. She is from Nepal and has completed her undergraduate studies in Public Health from the Central Department of Public Health. She is currently based in the UK and pursuing a Master of Public Health in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. She is also a Chevening Scholar.

Her work and interest lie at the intersection of public health, climate change, and indigenous communities. She has experience working with NGOs and INGOs in Nepal majorly on project management and campaign development. Laxmi has also worked closely with young people to build their skills in advocacy and campaigning on issues such as ending child marriage, improving sexual and reproductive health, and addressing climate change. She is passionate about working on sexual and reproductive health and the rights advocacy of young people, bodily autonomy, with a strong focus on equity and inclusion of marginalised voices.

Laxmi proudly embraces her Tharu- indigenous identity. Outside of her academic and professional work, she enjoys travelling, storytelling, learning new languages and volunteering in formal and informal community networks.

As a public health intern at Alanda Health, Laxmi aims to contribute to ongoing projects through research and analysis. She is eager to strengthen her skills in research, scientific communication, team coordination and remote work in a diverse team. She believes that meaningful change is possible through continuous and consistent effort.
